We are pleased to announce that one of our favorites, Orange County plastic surgeon, Daniel C. Mills, MD, was recently named the President of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). The distinguished organization represents more than 2,600 board-certified plastic surgeons throughout the United States, as well as internationally.
During the duration of his term, which will range from April of this year until April 2017, he will focus his energies on working towards continued advocacy regarding proper and lawful practices among physicians, as well as maintaining his efforts towards education and the evaluation of various treatment techniques, namely the overall outcome and results for the patient.
“It is an incredible honor, privilege, and responsibility to represent fellow board-certified plastic surgeons who do the preponderance of their work in aesthetic surgery and cosmetics,” said Mills. “‘ASAPS’ purpose is to help plastic surgeons self-actualize and continually become better aesthetic physicians for the overall safety and outcomes of their patients. We are constantly at the forefront trying to advocate for patient safety and physician education to endeavor for the best patient results and best patient safety that anyone could have through experience, education, and ethics. It is a huge responsibility to foster the direction our organization is headed, and I am proud to take on this responsibility to help improve the level of cosmetic care patients receive both in the U.S. and internationally.”
Expressing gratitude for the newly elected position, Dr. Mills notes that he feels the role will help to better both himself, as well as his practice.
“Not only does being President of ASAPS keep me on the most innovative and advanced edge of our specialty, but having industry relations as well as the international education available to myself keeps me at the very forefront of providing the safest, most effective plastic surgical care to patients at my own practice,” said Mills.
