CONAN THAI AND STEVEN OO

At The Live Box Magazine, we love the story behind the brand, behind the designer, behind the photographer and behind the shoot.  This edition, we feature photographer Conan Thai and his shoot with designer Steven Oo.

Conan Thai is a Chinese-American photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a BFA in studio arts. Growing up, he lived in books, played with matches, and dug holes in the backyard garden. He’s fascinated with decay, identity, relational aesthetics, film theory, narrative structure, and situationistic ‘aha’ moments, when the senses clear and the fog lifts.

Steven Oo was born in Myanmar and received a degree in Political Economy from UC Berkeley before following his passion to a MFA in Fashion Design.  After presenting his graduate collection at New York Fashion Week,  Steven honed his skills with stints designing for BCBG and Anthropologie.  Today, Steven is designing for his own label, Steven Oo, and his urban menswear brand 00:55.  Keep your eyes on this one…
