Patchwork With A Purpose = Piece X Piece

Elizabeth Brunner could be doing anything else.  She is a beautiful, talented designer, a wife, and mother of toddler twins. But sometimes a calling becomes a voice that drowns out all others, and that is the voice to which Elizabeth listens.  Good for us and good for the earth, Piece X Piece is Elizabeth’s passion.

Fall 2014 runway saw a return to Patchwork craftsmanship as a trend from Missoni, Prabal Gurung and Burberry Prorsum. For Piece X Piece, it is a way of being, not just a trend, but an answer to a problem with a beautiful solution.

From Elizabeth:

Piece x Piece (Piece by Piece) is a personal response to the overwhelming amount of waste produced by the fashion industry. Every year, thousands of sample fabric swatches are discarded each season and up until now it has been difficult to imagine a useful purpose for them. This is our way of creating a thoughtful disruption to the traditional path one usually takes in the apparel industry from fabric mill to land fill.

Piece X Piece has been nominated as a finalist in Martha Stewart’s American Made Awards.  You can vote for Piece X Piece here: Martha Stewart American Made : Piece X Piece.
