It’s Time to Talk About Feminine Intimate Health

Dr. Kim Nichols of NicholsMD of Greenwich discusses the long lasting and life changing benefits of CO2RE Intima treatment, and why this is such a beneficial treatment option for many women.

Tell us about your practice, and your practice philosophy: At NicholsMD of Greenwich, we believe that you should feel beautiful, confident, and ready to live your best life, today and every day. Because of this, our entire team is committed to continually advancing their knowledge, skills and mindset to deliver the exceptional experience and the exceptional results we’ve become known for. Dr. Nichols has been chosen to be a KOL—Key Opinion Leader—who trains other doctors in the art and practice of this innovative treatment! In addition to that, our practice has also been chosen to present demos for other practices who are looking to incorporate the procedure into their office.

What led you to choose CO2RE Intima as a treatment option for your practice? Here at NicholsMD, we strongly believe in helping people to look and feel like their best.  As a practice that is owned, operated, and primarily treats women, we understand the downsides that come with aging and giving birth to children. Once we hit certain milestones in our lives, there are changes in our bodies that come with those milestones. According to a consumer survey, 75% of American women suffer from intimate dryness and 90% of those women says that it negatively affects their lives. Too often, women believe that they must live with these horrible symptoms. We chose CO2RE to show women that they do have options to overcome this obstacle.

“According to a consumer survey, 75% of American women suffer from intimate dryness and 90% of those women says that it negatively affects their lives. Too often, women believe that they must live with these horrible symptoms. We chose CO2RE to show women that they do have options to overcome this obstacle.”

What can you treat specifically with CO2RE Intima, and who makes for an excellent candidate? CO2RE Intima is made to specifically treat vaginal tissue, by relieving the major signs of childbirth and aging and restoring the tone, shape, and flexibility of the area. This treatment is great for mothers post-childbirth, post-menopausal women, and any women who suffer from inflammation, dryness, and lack moisture. Women who have had breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy with the use of tamoxifen also serve as excellent candidates for CO2RE Intima treatments.

How does the technology work, and how does it differ from similar treatments once available? Intima is a medical laser that delivers controlled energy to the vaginal or vulva tissue – so cells make more collagen – improving skin tone, texture and appearance. The delivery of this laser energy to the area stimulates a healing response that also enhances moisture levels. This treatment is different from others because it not only treats the most intimate area of a woman using a sterile hand piece, but it is private, discrete, and offers as least discomfort as possible.

Are the results long-lasting, and is there follow up necessary? What is the typical recovery like? The results are extremely long lasting. After the initial treatments, patients only require one to two follow up maintenance treatments per year! The procedure only lasts 10-20 minutes, and there is minimal to no discomfort at all! Patients do not experience downtime and won’t have to worry about surgical or recovery scars. 100% of women who underwent the treatment reported satisfaction an 94% of those women would recommend it!

“Women who opt for this treatment regain the confidence that they once had.”

What concerns lie within the realm of women’s intimate health? How can this particular treatment lead to personal empowerment among women? There is often a taboo that is associated with this aspect of intimate health and treating the issue. If women take the surgical approach, there are many risks that come with it. This treatment does not have the many risks associated with surgery. We have seen how women’s lives have been changed for the better, especially moms who experienced laxity and stress incontinence after childbirth. Women who opt for this treatment regain the confidence that they once had.
