The Lean Closet Movement

Cuyana was founded with an inherent, deep-rooted mission: a desire to have an impact beyond just creating beautiful apparel and accessories. We truly believe that fewer, better things will lead to a fuller, richer life. That is how the Lean Closet program came about: we wanted to create a way to activate this philosophy of fewer, better for our customers. We want women to focus on buying and owning only what they love, and to take all those forgotten pieces they’ve accumulated and gift them to others who can use them. We launched Lean Closet alongside the brand in June 2013, and since then, countless women have participated.

With every Cuyana purchase where you select “lean shipping” at checkout, we will send you a reusable bag to fill up with items that aren’t helping you live your most beautiful life. You mail the bag back to us (with the included shipping label) and through our non-profit partner, H.E.A.R.T., your donated clothing will be given directly to women who will be able to gain fresh starts through your generosity. As an added bonus, for every donation you make, you will receive a $10 credit towards your next Cuyana purchase. It’s about doing more with less in our closets — and doing more for others who are in need.
